Setting Proxy Ubuntu 14.04 from terminal

I’m using Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and can’t connect to internet because it was blocked by Proxy. So I have to set a proxy configuration to get the proxy.

First time I tried use this command”

export HTTP_PROXY=http://yourIPaddress:yourPORT
export HTTPS_PROXY=https://yourIPaddress:yourPORT

But it doesn’t work. Also I can’t “apt-get update” from my terminal. Until I got anther references to change/edit “/ettc/apt/apt.conf”. If file does not exist, create it. Do not confuse it with apt.conf.d directory. Then add the following line:

Acquire::http::proxy "http://10.1.3.1:8080/";

Save the file. And the problem has solved. Check your network or restart the system.
